Destino is a gorgeous young male who is “destined” for greatness! He has exquisite fleece that is dense and has excellent crimp, staple length and fineness from head to toe. He is everything you would expect from a junior herdsire!
Destino’s sire, El Nino’s Accoyo Michelangelo, is a multiple champion and blue ribbon winner in both fleece and halter categories. He has extreme density, high amplitude crimp with just the right amount of fineness. Michelangelo’s fleece has a slight “peachy” tint to his fawn color. He has a tendency to “throw” color with his offspring – producing gray, brown, fawn, white and even one rose gray. Michelangelo’s density is 107 follicles/mm with an astounding S/P ratio of 13.28/1! This is almost unheard of in the alpaca industry! His breedings, valued at $7500, are now limited to just a few a year with an extensive waiting list.
His dam is one of our best females, Capree, who has amazing density herself! With these genetics, he is sure to be a star!
In his first show, Destino took a first place. We anticipate that he will do equally as well when we show him in the spring of 2010.
Destino will be ready for breedings in the spring of 2010.
